Books and papers from Chandler to hit the auction block

Raymond ChandlerBooks and papers from Raymond Chandler are about to hit the auction block, so if you've got some expendable income, head on over to Sotheby's in New York City on Dec. 13

The material comes from the library of Jean Vounder-Davis, the author’s fiancée and secretary until his death in 1959. Among the items up for bid are a copy of The Big Sleep inscribed to his first wife, Cissy, as well as a first-edition of Goldfinger inscribed to Chandler by Ian Fleming. 

There's also a copy of The Big Sleep that Chandler inscribed to himself, with the note: For me without my compliments
