Edgar Awards bestowed last night

The Mystery Writers of America handed out the 2012 Edgar Allan Poe Awards last night at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in New York City. The awards honor the best in mystery fiction, nonfiction and television published or produced in 2011. 

Gone by Mo Hayder was picked as Best Novel, and Best First Novel went to Bent Road by Lori Roy. Cozy writer Martha Grimes was named the year's Grand Master.

MysteriousPress.com author TJ English was nominated for Best Fact Crime for Savage City, and unfortunately didn't win. Congratulations to Candice Millard, who took home the award in that category for Destiny of the Republic: A Tale of Madness, Medicine and the Murder of a President.
