Two Terence Faherty eBooks, new from MysteriousPress.com!
We've just added two novels from Edgar nominated-author Terence Faherty to our collection! Both titles follow the cases of Scott Elliott, a private detective working for a security agency in post-World War II Hollywood. Employed by once-famous entertainers at the twilight of their careers, Elliott roams the industry's seedy underbelly, protecting the fading stars of a bygone era.
In the Shamus Award-winner Come Back Dead, a director (loosely based on Orson Wells) aims to save a film that was
ruined by its producers. After the studio that created the movie goes bust, Carson Drury buys the rights to his picture—The Imperial Albertsons—and sets out to restore his original cut. But when it becomes clear that somebody in Hollywood will kill to keep Drury's cut under wraps, it's up to Scott Elliott to keep him safe.
In Raise the Dead, Elliott steps in to save a kidnapped starlet from the hands of a dangerous mob boss. But soon after Elliott promises to continue protecting the woman, she dies in a plane crash on the way to film her newest picture. Dismayed at the news, Elliott can't shake the thought of a possible mob involvement. In order to ease his conscience, he sets out looking for revenge.
Terence Faherty (born 1954) is the author of over eleven mystery novels. His debut novel, Nightstick, was nominated for an Edgar in 1991. In addition to the Scott Elliott series, the author has another, which follows seminary dropout-turned-detective Owen Keane.
