Check out the new, MysteriousPress.com-approved eBook editions of the first four novels in H.C. McNeile’s Bulldog Drummond series! The books are featured in our new line of classic mystery novels, all professionally proofread and formatted to ensure readability on any device.

These are some of McNeile’s best-known novels, with a character inspired by the author’s time spent fighting in the trenches of World War I. In Bulldog Drummond and The Black Gang, the beloved English captain goes against two criminal groups that aim to destroy England and everything it holds dear. In Bulldog Drummond’s Third Round, he fends off the hired thug of a diamond cartel to protect a British professor. Then, in The Final Count, Drummond spars with his nemesis Carl Peterson, as a disappeared weapon of mass destruction threatens to resurface with terrible gusto.

H. C. McNeile, who also published under the pseudonym Sapper, was a British soldier and author. He began writing stories about his time in the trenches of World War I while still serving in the military, and afterwards turned from war stories to thrillers. He based the Bulldog Drummond character on himself, and wrote ten novels featuring the character. He also authored numerous other novels, stories, and plays.
